# Type Alias: RichTextDocument

> **RichTextDocument** = `object`

A rich-text value. A closed format: anything not listed here is invalid, so
no stored value can carry markup, scripts or styles. `version` lets the
format grow; a reader rejects a version it does not know. Like every
rich-text type it is plain JSON, so a preset's props can hold one.
