# Function: resolveInstance()

> **resolveInstance**(`definition`, `instance`, `scope?`): [`ResolvedInstance`](../interfaces/ResolvedInstance)

Gate one instance for rendering: field values through the chain, children
and named slots gated against the declared slots, every degradation
reported. The instance (and page data) is never modified.
