# Function: isInsertableOn()

> **isInsertableOn**(`component`, `surface`): `boolean`

Whether an editor may insert this component on `surface`: it is not marked
`insertable: false`, and its `capabilities.surfaces` (absent = any surface)
cover the surface. Accepts a definition or its manifest spec.
