# Function: notFound()

> **notFound**(`context`, `page?`): `Promise`\<`Response`\>

Answers a page whose resource does not exist — `return notFound(Astro)` —
with the theme's not-found page (`/404`) and status 404, and never caches
it: a product published a minute later must show, not the cached refusal.
